The Vovo Education Project
The Vovo Education Project supports a small group of dedicated Australian teachers who are travelling to PNG to work alongside Cyril, a long‑standing local educator who has invested much of his life in teaching in his own community. He has single handedly provided education for 100 plus students, despite extremely limited resources and guess what – he is taking on another 40 to 50 students with the help of some young teachers aids which the No Roads Foundation will help train!!!
This project reflects the way No Roads Expeditions Foundation works best — supporting communities to help themselves and strengthening local capacity through respectful, long‑term sustainable partnerships.
Supporting Teachers on the Ground
Passionate teachers from North East Victoria (Wangaratta) will travel to Vovo to work side‑by‑side with Cyril and his community in July 2026, sharing skills, mentoring, and supporting sustainable teaching practices that remain long after the visit ends. These educators give their time freely and cover significant personal costs in order to participate.
To enable this work, we are seeking $3,000 per teacher, with four teachers forming the July 2026 team.
A Sponsorship Opportunity
This creates a meaningful opportunity for corporate partners, workplaces, community groups or individuals to:
- Sponsor an individual teacher
- Directly support education in a highly resource‑limited setting
- Invest in a proven, community‑led education partnership which is the No Roads Foundations strength.
Your sponsorship helps ensure teachers can participate fully and strengthens education outcomes for the entire Vovo community.
